Description of neighbourhood: Noord - Biesdonk
Biesdonk (Breda North) is one of the largest neighbourhoods of the northern area. Here are many houses for small families, but also flat blocks. The inhabitants appreciate the green, peace and attractiveness and the facilities; such as the spacious shopping centre ‘Hoge Vught’. The age average of the inhabitants is higher than in other parts of Breda. There are about 4.900 inhabitants.

“De actieve trendvolger” are singles or families without children. They live in a flat or apartment. They have an average or below average income, and they spent their money well thought of. Generally they have followed a midlevel (MBO-HBO) education.
Lifestyle
“De actieve trendvolger” likes to go out. This type has a focus on body & health, goes to the Gym and is active in squash or skiing. TV stations like TMF/MTV and Radio538 are listened to very often, so they stay informed on nowadays smashing hits! And of course they read trendy magazines to keep informed about everything that is new & trendy.

Of course this are families with children! The breadwinner has often had a profession based education and both partners have a job. This “Gemiddelde gezin” has an average up to above average income, which is easily spend having a busy family life.
Lifestyle
In this household the children play a central role. Activities with the children, garden and do-it-yourself jobs in the house are common activities. Also the media (television, radio and magazines) are family based. "Het Gemiddelde gezin" likes to go camping. Obviously the camp-site is the spot where children spend the best holidays...
c. Social senior 24%

“De sociale senior” is frequently living alone. This type is 55 years and above, but generally a little older. They frequently live in a smaller house. Because this type often no longer works (fulltime) they have generally an average or below average income.
Lifestyle
A sober life style is characteristic for “De sociale senior”. Playing bridge, handwork or making puzzles is alternated with voluntary work. They are working hard to remain healthy. The magazines they read are Plus (magazine for older people), magazines about health and Het Beste. The radio is tuned to Radio1, 4 and 747 AM.
