Description of neighbourhood: Oost - Heusdenhout
Heusdenhout (Breda East) is a spacious constructed area in the east part of Breda. About half of the houses are composed of social houses to rent and 33% is composed of owner occupied houses. A small part of Heusdenhout has independent houses. There are also many low buildings and some flat blocks. Heusdenhout is a green area with a lot of surface for children to play. There are many associations in the community house ‘De Kapelhof’ along the Heusdenhoutseweg and even a day-care centre for children. In Heusdenhout is also a shopping centre. The neighbourhood has about 5.400 residents.

Lifestyle
A sober life style is characteristic for “De sociale senior”. Playing bridge, handwork or making puzzles is alternated with voluntary work. They are working hard to remain healthy. The magazines they read are Plus (magazine for older people), magazines about health and Het Beste. The radio is tuned to Radio1, 4 and 747 AM.

Of course this are families with children! The breadwinner has often had a profession based education and both partners have a job. This “Gemiddelde gezin” has an average up to above average income, which is easily spend having a busy family life.
Lifestyle
In this household the children play a central role. Activities with the children, garden and do-it-yourself jobs in the house are common activities. Also the media (television, radio and magazines) are family based. "Het Gemiddelde gezin" likes to go camping. Obviously the camp-site is the spot where children spend the best holidays...
c. Conscious hedonist 9%

“Conscious hedonist” is at least middle aged. Generally they have older children still living at home or already out of the house. They have completed a higher education and belong to the upper social classes. The high income ensures that the “De bewuste Bourgondiër” can enjoy life without any financial limits.
Lifestyle
“Conscious hedonist” enjoys life to the max! Culture, antiques, investments, luxury cars, theatre, art, bridge, a political discussion and of course a good bottle wine can endure the approval of this bourgondiër. Especially golf, hockey, tennis, skiing and sailing are popular sports. They read much: a good book or an informative article.
