Description of neighbourhood: Zuid - Ruiterbos

Ruiterbos (Breda South) is situated between Graaf Engelbertlaan en the mastbos. The largest part of this area is composed of (partially pre-war) luxurious houses. This part borders the famous Mastbos (forest). Besides a part of this district is composed of distinguished houses (Baronielaan) and another part of houses in a row and a few flat blocks. About 2.400 people live in this neighbourhood. The Ruiterbos (Ruiter forest) is very green and there are different sports facilities. Further you can find here many attractive cafés/ restaurants. To do your shopping you can go to the neighbourhood of Boeimeer.

“Conscious hedonist” is at least middle aged. Generally they have older children still living at home or already out of the house. They have completed a higher education and belong to the upper social classes. The high income ensures that the “De bewuste Bourgondiër” can enjoy life without any financial limits.

Lifestyle
“Conscious hedonist” enjoys life to the max! Culture, antiques, investments, luxury cars, theatre, art, bridge, a political discussion and of course a good bottle wine can endure the approval of this bourgondiër. Especially golf, hockey, tennis, skiing and sailing are popular sports. They read much: a good book or an informative article.

Socio-demograghic
“De sociale senior” is frequently living alone. This type is 55 years and above, but generally a little older. They frequently live in a smaller house. Because this type often no longer works (fulltime) they have generally an average or below average income.

Lifestyle
A sober life style is characteristic for “De sociale senior”. Playing bridge, handwork or making puzzles is alternated with voluntary work. They are working hard to remain healthy. The magazines they read are Plus (magazine for older people), magazines about health and Het Beste. The radio is tuned to Radio1, 4 and 747 AM.

“Cultural country man/woman” is no starter anymore. Often are they (older) singles/single living people. They have completed a higher than average education, but do not have an extremely high income.

Lifestyle
“De culturele buitenmens” is strongly involved socially. He/she is aware of the surroundings and the environment and is also prepared to contribute to society. They are interested in art, culture, concert, museums and theatre. “De culturele buitenmens” likes reading. Especially books, quality newspapers and magazines about living and peoples perceptions on live. Do not confuse them with country people! “Buitenmens” because they are little at home.
